Roadster roof removal

I'm thinking of completely removing the soft top from my roadster but seems a shame to cut brackets off a perfectly good roof frame so that i can fit the hardtop. Does anybody have an old frame they don't want and can anyone think of any issues this would cause?

Well you've got me baffled there :? . If the soft top is down (open) the hard top fits perfectly. All UK cars came with hard top preparation as standard. Definately no need to completly remove the soft top 8) .

Probably didn't make myself clear :D I'm biased towards track days so i'm trying to lighten the car as much as possible i don't need to remove the roof but i want to. The only thing is the hard top attaches to the soft top frame hence wanting an old frame to use just that part

There is an absolutely knackered softop being offered on one of the Z4 Facebook pages. Might be worth looking at as it would only be any good for a few parts.

Surely you'd be better selling and buying a Coupe if you're that serious about tracking ?

Coupes appear to fetch a lot more money and as with all my projects I get carried away
What started as a cheap second car (under 3k) for fun and a odd Trackdays has progressed on and on :driving: :D
