Roadster owners-do you use an air freshener?

Hi all -i only ask because over the xmas hols i saw quite a few different soft tops with air fresheners hanging from their interior mirrors-WHY????-unless you are a heavy smoker and never put the top down :roll:

I think my gf bought one once and I put it in the car to appease her, then it went in the garage for a while then into the bin,.

Got one, stuck inside the cubby behind the drivers seat - pretty useless as I can only smell it briefly when the top is down and wind gets in to stir it up. Then I can't smell it again. Cubby smells lovely though.

I use one during the winter months as the top is up much more. I don't bother in the summer.

Same here. Had a magic tree hanging off the indicator stalk, but it ended up rotting the paint on the steering column cowelling. DO NOT EVER DO THIS. Really peed me off when I discovered it

I've used those neutradol gels before now when the weather's been too wet for having the roof down, just takes away the musty smell of damp. Usually put it in the side of the door out of sight

I bought one briefly when I first got the car, and starting using it once that "just bought car" smell went away. I found it to be too sickly sweet and overpowering, despite having the air freshener in the centre cubby. I've ditched it months ago and have been using the "roof down, fresh air" combo. 8)

Horrible things. Surely if there is an issue with odours you need to fix the root cause not suppress it.

Many years ago I borrowed a bosses car. He was a hard core 60 a day smoker. He kept one of those polo shaped toilet freshners in the car. Nearly puked on a 100 mile drive with ash and pine mix....

The ones you plug in at home are just as bad....I tipped one over on top of a fridge once and in the ten minutes before I noticed it, it had stripped the paint off down to bare metal.....f*cked if I'd be breathing such corrosive shite in thank you very much!
