Roads

I've recently returned home after a three week break in Germany and the Netherlands with the zed and was reminded just how bad our roads are!
The Netherlands seemed paricularly good while in Germany even after the "Strasse Schaden" warning signs, they were generally better than our attempts at a decent road. :x

On the downside I was told that it's €150 a month road tax in NL ?

For a small car like a Z4 the tax is that low yes. For an X5, it is a whole different matter ...

I just did the calculation for an X5:

€ 2856,00 per year.

And I bellyache about £500 a year for my Disco 3!

Out of curiosity what does an x5 cost to tax?

And PVR, ITV, when showing the European qualifiers, still mentioned Holland in their group matches 8)

Belgium have great roads too. Although I do think french roads are better than German ones....

Some of the worst in the modern world, the USA.

Here is the on line calculator:

http://www.belastingdienst.nl/rekenhulpen/motorrijtuigenbelasting/

The X5 is 2356 Kg

If ive done this properly ( there was a bit of language difficulty)
My Disco would be :-
Motorrijtuigenbelasting per kwartaal: € 738,00
Motorrijtuigenbelasting per jaar: € 2952,00

Wow!

absolutely fucking rediculous !!!! then you'll have the three party leaders all travelling seperately up to scotland today with their own entourages and hangers on and bleating on about my M's carbon footprint !! :headbang: makes me want to leave a pss rubber footprint all the way to downing st !!! Tossers all of them, and while we're at it , if anyone actually thinks that things will be any different for the average scot on the street whether its a yes or a no vote, probablys till thinks tony blair was a totally honest politician and that gordon brown did a splendid job of managing the economy :x
