Road trip through Europe

Ok just to apologise if this is in the wrong section but I have just completed my road trip and I wanted to give people an idea of mileage costs and places I covered.

Ok so my route covered 3,352 miles

That was setting off from the west country and travelling to Dijon then Nice, Monaco, Lake Garda, Venice, Retz in Austria, Salzburg, Vienna, Zurich, Brussells and finally back home.

So for the bad bit, we stayed in hotels most of the way round and I managed it navigate towards nearly every hit toll in the south of France so tolls were about £134

And fuel well I managed 32.4mpg but I still spent £750 on fuel

I'll try and add photos and more info later on

Highest I saw was £1.72 for 99 octane

FYI, the cheapest premium near me (southern US) is $3.49/gallon (£2.25). I believe 1 imperial gallon (UK) equals 1.2 US gallons.

On the fuel point - seems in Europe the difference between 95 and 99 RON is much bigger than here in the UK. Also, fuel prices in the UK are comparatively good now. Wasnt the case 10 years ago....

When I first went to the States gas was 35 cents a gallon; I filled up a Buick from empty for $20 which at the time was about £10.
Ten years after and it had risen to 80 cents.
I was talking to a couple in a bar who confidently told me that 'if' it got $1 a gallon people would march on the White house and burn it down.
When I told them that a gallon of petrol in the UK at the time was about $6 they just wouldn't believe me :roll:
