There is no lane discipline in the states, so other than the gold car taking a long time to get past he did nothing wrong and is entitled to stay out in that lane.
 
Careful doing that in America - If you survive the crash you're just a likely to be shot !

Which would also serve the prick right !

Correct, however there has been a push in recent years in some states to enforce using only the left lane for passing. One of the the problems is that between states the laws concerning the passing/fast lane are not uniform. For example in some states you can drive in the passing lane if you are driving the posted speed limit. In other states you should only be in the passing lane if you are actually passing. Another problem is the heavy volume of large truck traffic that pretty well blocks the right lane which results in many just staying in the left/passing lane. There is currently a program underway to improve many major routes to 6 lanes and truck are not allowed at all in the extreme left or passing lane.

To be fair the prick was tailgating long before the overtake.

If the prick had done that to me I'd have slammed on the anchors and chinned him !

Or shot him :D
 
So jasey what you are saying is if he done that to you, you would punch him on the chin or shoot him.
Do you think there would ever be a scenario where you would have punched him and shot him or would it always be one or the other.
Personally If he did that to me and spun off of the road I would almost certainly try to tea bag him whilst he was still in a daze
