Road bike IN a Z4 Roadster.

Per title, I know this is possible in the coupe, has anyone done it in the Roadster? Specifically, driving with the roof up?

I think it can be done. First and foremost the wheels will fit in the boot with ease.

Removing the pedals and chain will make things easier (and less dirty).

I've not tried, yet, but has anyone got a formula for success.

I'd leave chain on and put bike in a bag myself then stick in front

A large road bike will fit in with no problem....
All you need to do is whip the wheels off, remove the saddle & post and remove the bar & stem.
All goes in with a bit of cardboard sheet between the wheels & frame.
Did it once when my zed went in for work then rode back home, other than that I prefer using the VW Transporter much easier

Is this in the boot?

Wheels off, chain off, seat post out, crank and chain rings out and you can lay a 56cm frame in the front passenger seat quite easily.

My 55cm Frame goes in the boot with the roof up or down.

Drop the saddle to the lowest position
Remove wheels obviously ( I use a chain holder in the drive side drop out to keep things tidy)
Undo the stem and drop the forks out.
Back wheel squeezes in the boot with my clothes
Front wheel gets pride of place in the passenger side.

Yup, did that today without any great difficulty (crank out for added convenience).

The boot is an interesting challenge I can't resist. Can't be arsed taking the fork out but I'll allow myself to slacken off the stem to spin the bars!

I hate bike racks.

Hanging carbon framed bikes out in the path of road debris and inclement weather conditions always seemed completely wrong to me.
