Sorry I just don't get it !! Hundreds of people waiting up to 3 hours to " pay their respects " , hours of tv footage going on and on about this " King " All the money being spent on the reinternment of an individual with a pretty dubious background ( depending on what you believe ) is immoral and how can you be sure it really is him - seems like the identity of the bones was based on some shady DNA and reconstructive appearance !

Bah Humbug :x

I don't get it either, but what I really don't get is the people who were 'enraged' that he was not being buried in York??? Sorry he's been dead for over 500 years and under a car park until recently. Not sure why there was such a fuss. Waste of time and money. Not forgetting he's not yet buried but laying in state really.

I think it's great to be honest and an important part of our history and heritage. If he had lived it could have changed the whole course of our countrys history. It's been proved that's it's definitely him through family lineage and comparison DNA matching with the last surviving relative alive today. Ironically if this person had died before Richard was found there would have been no descendant left to have done a DNA match and it would never have been proved. It was amazing they found him at all.

Agree Tim.

It's our history, we should be proud of this and we should do Everthing in our power to save our heritage.

Can you imagine how much the USA would make of this if they'd got 500 year history to celebrate.

Well, technically, even from a euro-centric point of view they have more than that - they celebrate Columbus day every year and this year will be 23 years post-quincentennial.
