Hi folks just been to HI-Q got two screws removed from one tyre and then repaired - cost £ 14.50 :D
Tyres were bridgstones potenza rft,one screw was in centre of tread one close to the edge but still on a flat part of tyre
So i guess anyone telling you they carnt be fixed is telling porkies :x

dont thinks its a case of them not repairing them, the concern is how far its has been driven without air in, as this may compromise the integrity of the sealing of the sidewall

See what you mean ,but mine has run at half pressure for at least a couple of weeks with no signs of damage or wear !

There may be damage to the inner wall of a rft that you cannot see. I would be cautious about re-using a tyre if I'd run the car on the tyre at normal speeds - i.e. above 25mph for prolonged periods over the course of a couple of weeks. Did you tell the tyre fitter you had run at half pressure with the screws in?

I didnt mention it to the fitter himself but the manager is my next door neighbour and he didnt think it was a problem !
Guess its going to be suck it and see :?
