Reversing camera callibration - help!

On my 2003 E85 2.5i Roadster, there is a reversing display in the rearview mirror. It shows a picture of what's behind with a grid superimposed.

The grid on mine does not seem to accurately represent where the car is....I am still some way off an obstacle when I reach the red zone.

Is there some way to calibrate the camera?

Advice please?

Hi, this sounds like an aftermarket equipment. Is there any hint of which brand you have?

I don't think you can change it, no - it's on the camera itself.
*Some* have a wire you can cut to turn it off.
