Looks like I’m going to be back in this part of the forum from Thursday, if all goes well
After moving from a low mileage E85 3.0Si into a remapped 20i E89 I was content for a while and a bit smug that I had a newer weekend toy, that was faster and more modern/comfortable…
Then I got a little bored with, in my opinion, the less than dynamic handing of the E89…. Decision time, spend on uprating the suspension to try and make it feel more alive and raw, or, …move on.
Goodbye E89…. Hello TTS
The TTS was faster than the E85 and E89 and as a driving experience somewhere in the middle, not quite as raw as an E85 not as refined (Comfortable) as the E89. It was great, but everytime I went out in it I’d see multiple other TT’s… they’re everywhere!
I don’t think of a weekend car as an investment, but I’d prefer not to throw money away either… I think longer term the TTS will go the same was as the MK1 TT 1.8 Quattro, there’s plenty of them about and they’re cheap as chips. I think the TT RS and TT RS Plus are worth holding onto, a bit like the MK1 TT Quattro 240 sport.
So, decision made, cash in on the TTS… find another E85, it’ll be slower and older… but it will sound better :driving:
