Why don't you do it yourself?having said that, how old is your car?

Its a 56' Coupe. Im pretty confident I dont want to be messing around with anything electrical, ive googled DIY guides but nothing has come to light.

you could easily ring them up and ask them, let me know when i see you over christmas :P

I could, but what are the chances of the parts monkey being able to find out that information in the same phonecall? makes more sense to try here first.

p.s you're un-invited, my mum said your jumper was too offensive last year.

Pre facelift piece of piss, but spend £100 + more for a dealer to do it, go on, I dare you lol

Mine is a facelift, i'll also be the first to admit that im not massively handy with the spanners. I pose too much risk to the car and myself should i get involved in jiggery pokery with electrics.

he is going sell his medallion to fund it :P

Hang on, im not a slick haired 46 year old Grecian.

I had mine done at the dealer and they charged 2 hours labour for fitting.
I got the full set of parts (including the cowl) from eBay though for about £80 so it worked out at about £300 all in.
Not sure how much they're charging for the full kit now.

If your Pre face lift mate you have been ripped off. It took 10 mins to fit it, 9 of which was cutting a hole in the cowl which had the mark already on it of where to cut.

Sorry, long day yesterday.
Just figured it was obvious that I had a facelift. At the time no-one had successfully retrofitted the cable required for a facelift so I had to go for the dealer option. I believe it was achieved eventually, so should be some posts on here about DIY. Was answering the OP's question, as everyone else who's done it seems to have a pre FL and can get away with the stalk.

I have had my stalk and wiring since Feb.. its just gather dust.. one day i will attempt to fit it!

I think the PDF guide i have quotes 3 hours labour for N52... and as the dealer will not cut the stock cowel - you are looking at a £150 kit plus 3hours labour - so prob close to around £500- £550.

No worries mate, I was grizzly too. Off to buy tourismo now and find that z4
