So i bought the stalk and the wiring loom £90 inc VAT, decided not to buy the next under the steering wheel cover for £90 (as recommended by the dealer  )

easy to fit (no instructions i could find for the m54 engine (post oct 04) but the BMW instructions were easy to follow

best thing ive ever done (after my retrofit cup holders) and cant imagine life without cruise control :o

Well done. Wish I had your confidence, cutting into the loom gave me the wobbles.

If you can get the exact details of what we need to splice, I'd be happy to help you Tony. I'm an electronics engineer so pretty nifty with a circuit diagram and soldering iron!

i couldnt even remove the lower cowel on my steering column :( (and yes i did remove that star screw)

I've got all the details but no idea! Would love some help - and when i say help I mean I'll provide encouragement and help with feeding wires through gaps ( I know my limits!)

Guiseley, why not just make a start, if i recall the cable as to be fed through to the engine bay, then have a go at fitting the stalk

anyone with a post oct 04 m54 engine that needs help, im more than willing to spend an evening or a few hours on a weekend and help you do it.

its really easy, it took me 2 hours first time and i think i could do it in a lot less now ;)

I've seen the instructions for the N52 engine and its not that much extra to do, so i wouldn't mind helping you out (but it is a bit of a distance to travel)

Cheers for the offer, but I've got to meet up with Bradders to swap wheels anyway, so will have a crack at it with him first - might be back with questions though!
