Retrofit Facelift Tail Lamps on 2003

Hey, does anyone know how I could go about retrofitting the new tail lamps on a 2003 Z4?

I know that the rear bumper has to be replaced, and obviously the lights themselves.

What confuses me is the LCM or Light Control Module, from what I hear my current one will either need programming or replacement. Does anyone know if programming is possible?

Also, if I get my LCM programmed or replaced to work with the new tail lamps, will my current self leveling xenon headlamps stop working or lose functionality since they aren't the facelift type?

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

Your right about the LCM, i think it needs to be upgraded to the newer one but i don't think it bothers the front xenons....I could be wrong..

You need to pm or talk to femmeT - the only person I know who has done it, but I echo highstreams comment that the prefacelift are better and certainly if you get some of the slightly better white centre aftermarket and then do the full circle brake light mod

The original lights were one of the things that actually attracted me to the Z. I would not bother to change them to post-facelift, unless you really prefer them.

I actually don't mind the pre-facelift lights, I just don't like the yellow turn signal on the 2003, so i was thinking of installing the 2005 tail lamps with the white turn signal, but I figured I might as well see if the facelift ones would work. So I think I could live with the 2005 tail lamps if its a hassle to put in the facelift ones, just exploring my options for now. I think I might try getting the amber out of my headlights too with cj10's diy, hopefully I won't end up without headlamps! haha thanks for your help :D

Sounds like a good compromise to go for the best of the pre facelift, but hey don't blame me if you end up with no headlights... :)

Best rear on my old car after upgrade (before re-applying the french fries):

haha, so the LCM and bumper were more effort than I wanted to put in... but the trunklid...

Yeah... so I think I'm keeping my lights or trying to track down the pre-facelifts with white indicators.. :D
I think getting rid of the yellow indicators in the front, back, and side repeaters would make my car look a lot better

You should go with PVR's tail lights, as they are the Euro spec tail lights. If you notice next to the white turn signals, a (white)rear fog light on the left side and a red reverse light on the right side...only available on the Euro tail lights :)

I DID also that conversion to my Zed and it looks way better front and rear the tail lights in order to work you have to change the LCM reprogrammed is not an option other things are easy to install. if you want more info p.m me
