RetroFit - E89 door cards & Seats into an E85

Hi everyone, first time here..

Just need some confirmation and help.

I have an E85 2003 3.0 is Sterling Grau metallic. The interior is looking tired... Spoke to a breakers yard and they informed me that a E89 door card and seats will fit into a e85. Maybe he was saying it just to sell it to me. However this was confirmed by a a US based BMW dealer when I called. However spoke to a BMW dealer in the UK and they were clueless.

If anyone has a detailed understanding of the anatomy of the Z4, can you please let me know if this is possible? IF so, do I need any different electrical connectors for the windows/mirror/seats in to the door cards and floor of the E85.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

You might be able to get the seats to fit, would take some work though.

Not a chance on the door cards though.
 
As above maybe they are getting mixed up with the E86 coupe?

Exactly this. No way will E89 kit fit into an e85 or E86

More chance of a 1970's MGB bits fitting straight in...

Thx everyone for letting me know, It is just strange how UK BMW dealers do not know the answer. Even scarier that a US dealer said it was the same platform. Question: The door shape of the E85, does look like an E89...BMW saving costs perhaps.. If anyone knows in the UK where a Z4 Sport seats/Z4M and door cards in red are available, please give me shout.

In 7 years of ownership I've only ever seen 2 sets and one is fitted in mine :)
Rarer than hens teeth is the oft quoted phrase.

There have been a few more than two, pawnsacrifice also had a set as have others, but yest they are rare and desirable so you will need to be quick and prepared to pay a premium.
