Restoring stock DSP setup

Hello, second post on here!

I just picked up my new (to me) 54 plate Z4. Really pleased with the car, great condition.

Only a couple of minor niggles with it, one of which is that it has an aftermarket head unit fitted.
Looking at the original build sheet the car had the Carver DSP setup.

I'd like to go back to stock, but the amplifier is missing from the boot!
The wiring for the amp is still there, including the coax connection for the cd changer. The cd changer is still in the car too.

So, I think I need to find a 'Business' head unit, and a Carver amp?

Assuming that the wiring hasn't been chopped about, would re-instating these take the system back to stock?

The subs behind the seats currently don't work due to the amp not being present so the sound isn't great.

I've looked on realoem and have found the part no. for the carver amp, there's quite a few listed though.

Anybody got anything that might help?!?

TBH I would get a OEM head unit but probably better off getting an aftermarket amp. Do a search on SK93's amp replacement for details.

So, looking at that, the Alpine PDX-V9 amp can drive all of the stock speakers.

I may well look at getting one of those and retaining the aftermarket headunit for now, then change the headunit back to stock when funds allow.

Hi,

I assume it was you who contacted through my ebay advert (breaking my car).... but if not, I have a stock headunit available for sale.

Andy

Hi Andy, yes it was.

I'll let you know about the head unit, starting to wonder now whether to keep an aftermarket HU and just amp the existing speakers.
