Reset the windows

It does, but as I said, there is no mention of the GM5 in any posts I could find relating to the auto-drop (positive seal) of the windows specifically. 1000's of posts about central locking and automatic up/down though, which is my point. It's ok if you don't know, all good - I just need a fix as it's going to break my glass at some point when I close the door with the windows up.

Must be these adjusters on the cable runners. With the glass up these are going to be near the top, so you'll need a long extension.

I appreciate the effort, not the condescending tone so much (second time now?) This seems to be a manual adjustment for levelling and/or increasing or decreasing the glass height. Something one might do if the auto-dropping was working. It’s not really /possible that both of my windows fell out of adjustment at the same time. Using this method, it will drop the glass manually to close the door a bit better, but it won’t raise back up to make a seal if they aren’t dropping and raising. It might be a hack for now, I don’t drive it in the rain anyway, so leaks won’t be an issue. Have a happy and safe Christmas! 🎄
 
At the risk of sounding ‘condescending’ again; I’ve dug up more than you have managed and it’s all been cast off.

Hi everyone,

I'm also looking for a bit of guidance on 'window gate' for my 2005 Z4. I recently bought it after having one a few years back and loving it ........ but it ultimately meeting a grizzly demise!

I got this one a few months back for some cheap weekend fun but it's also having a few issues with the auto windows function (amongst other things ..... to be expected of a 20 year old car!).

So, my drivers side auto down works fine but auto up doesn't. If I lower the roof using the key remote, the passenger side comes back up to half way (like my old one did on both sides) but the driver driver one stays down. I have tried the reset listed above of operating the down and up function of the window 4 times within 10 seconds and this seems to restore the auto up function. However, it seems to disable the roof lowering from the key remote function. If I lock the car and re open it, it restores the roof function but disables the auto up of the window - basically putting it back to how it was at the start.

I'm not the most technically minded so any help would be gratefully received. It's almost as if the reset somehow doesn't save and when I lock and unlock the car, it just goes back to square one.
