Replacing the dash... Easy?

So, I'm wondering how difficult it would be to replace the dash. Any ideas?

If, let's say, I bought a Z4M Coupe with a silver dash, how easy would it be to replace it for the original CF dash?

Also, what are the costs for the brand new dash inserts? (Either CF or Piano Black)

£600 isn't too bad - food for thought.

At least that improves my options a bit should I buy one with a silver dash.

Hydrographics?

I had my dash wood trim covered along with roll hoops, door handles and mirror covers for less than £300

I had my silver dash covered in leather. It's quite a tight fit but it works fine. You can get the BMW hides - not sure if you can get the cf one but this is another option for you

Love the CF dash. My piano black is a PITA to keep clean.

I have to tell passengers not to touch it otherwise they are walking.

Never understood anyone ordering an M to have the standard alu dash instead of the M specific CF.

Changing the dash transforms the interior, leather dash is the way forward

I wouldn't bother with wrap, you will get a much better finish with paint (not from an aerosol) or hydrographics.

There are loads of effects to choose from with hydrographics too.

I had my centre console and door handles painted in piano black to match my the dash I've just fitted.

Thinking of going this route,in fact the only thing putting me off is the pain of having to strip everything out... how long has yours been done and any negatives...? did you cover an Alu Dash.?

I've had it done about a month now, no issues, its tough and resistant as its normal paint. I normally give it a little polish with Meguires liquid wax when I clean the interior.

I bought a alu centre console from the forum as I didn't have the time to take my own out with going away, but yea it was no issue to paint. The door handles were stripped of the Crome effect paint they are covered in and painted.

I think you'd pay between £100-£150 to have it all painted properly, much cheaper than buying Piano Black new from BMW and it looks exactly the same. I can't tell the difference between the bits I've had painted and the piano dash trim.
