Replacing Standard Steering Wheel With Multimedia M Sport?!

Hi there.

I am new to the forums, so I hope I am posting this in the correct forum. :?

I am purchasing a shiny Z4 2,5i Se and can't wait to go an pick it up.
The first upgrade I'd like to do, is change the steering wheel for something chunkier and sportier..as I am coming from a M Sport Coupe, and that was one hell of a good steering wheel.

So mine comes with a standard 3 spoke Steering no multimedia controls, and I was wondering if It's possible to install the multimedia M Sport wheel.
This one: http://thumbs2.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/m2cd2ZbYjcB5OhND6QLibzg.jpg

Whilst keeping the multimedia functions.

Thanks a million in advance for the help

Thanks ever so much guys.

Jonny essex, Wow that looks fantastic. I am more looking for the thickness and the newness of the wheel, more than the controls. So Royal sounds like a great solution. Much cheaper too. Thanks a lot for the tip. Just saved me from buying the wrong wheel and at a much expensive price. :D And yes I am thinking I'll take my time and enjoy the slow progress of improving my Zed, for the price I got the car, I can afford to splash out in improving it. :driving:

se4y, Thanks for the links. I might purchase those multimedia controls later on. For now I'll just get the wheel retrimmed.

Jonny essex, Thanks a lot man...and I can see myself doing the same, I have loads to buy on my list. And the more I peruse the forums the more I want to do. This might get addictive. :D

Just to add to JE's post - Jack has some wheels for sale occasionally, but if you chose to go for re-trim he has a host of options, and will arrange a loaner wheel whilst yours is being re-trimmed. Also had mine done by Jack, and got him to re-trim my zhp gear knob at the same time:

Jonny essex, LOL!!! Yerp...chop chop. I just send a mail to Royals enquiring about a retrim. I am thinking Mix Leather, with a ligth and dark grey stitching. Maaaan cannot wait to get it done.

markeg, Hi Mark. Thanks for the tips. And your interior looks really great. I am thinking on getting this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/161461630224 to replace my gear knob.
But I am really interested in your interior retrim. How did you got it to be leather on the dashboard and center console? Was that Royals too? Looks amazing.

Thanks Bran - is a great place to sit. The trim is standard in the Alpina versions - there was an extended leather option on the zed options list although bit late now :) re-trimming is always possible but that would be a custom shop - look for Z4MO's thread as he had his door cards and seats done. Don't think Royal would do a full interior though.

markeg, Ah so that's what an Interior of an Alpina looks like. ;) GREAT look. In that case, it I might be cheaper to go for a piano black for the re-trim, I found one online all done and ready to be installed.
Hopefully that will make the car go back to a nice newish state. That and the new steering and the new gear knob, and the new....many other upgrades coming up, :)

markeg, Ah so that's how an interior of an Alpina looks like?! GREAT look!!

Have you guys seen this on the American forums: http://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=109691&highlight=custom+interior+trim

This guy made his own leather interior and looks a lot like yours Mark.

I wonder if there's anyone in the forums here that would do the same?
