Hi all

After some info and advice on the options available and any potential drawbacks.

I want to replace the standard exhaust with a stainless steel cat back system, partly to eliminate the risk of short, medium term failure (always run stainless systems for longevity) and I have noticed the tail pipes look a bit tired surprisingly!

Any how, looking for advice on options from personal experiences please :D

I was thinking of having an quad rear - quoted around £550

to improve the tips - just get some Autosol Metal Polish and an toothbrush

Thanks for the tip, il be giving that a go until I am sorted.

I have been quoted £1200 for a 70mm single mid pipe conversion with twin OEm look outlet CAT back custom made job tuned to sound more like a straight 6...

Learning fast... Standard exhaust is already stainless steel, made by Boysen so the only thing I need to do is sort the tail pipes out...

Attempted clean up... 90% there...

Didn't take a before shot but I guess those that have one will know what they can look like if neglected...Will do for now

Hi JimsZ,
Have you tried blocking the vacuum pipe and valve attached to your exhaust back box for a more sporty exhaust note? I see some have done this with 35i and 35is models, with mixed results. I am thinking of trying this, or else fitting an Eisenmann System. Regards, Richard.

Hi both, thanks for commenting.

Zebedee. No, not had much time to be honest, still waiting for the weather to break at the same time I have some spare time to fit the monkey tips. I will also try the suggestion you have made to see what results I get.

Have a quote locally for a full custom job and its around £1,200 excluding CAT replacement, quite pricey if I'm honest. Also consider the Eisenmann option a top end product but again even more pricey so not really keen on the bang for buck investment considering the existing OEM exhaust is stainless.

Mr ashrhodes. Your mod looks good, not what. Want but looks good

The more I've looked into this the only way to get that "sporty sound" is to get the top end expensive job done but I have resigned myself to just smartening up the visual appearance of the end tips, I like the look of the twin pipes. (Would prefer a bigger bore slash cut look) so the only other way to get that straight six sound would be to get a 3.0i I guess lol..
