Replacing rear springs

Had an inspection 2 today at my local indy and they have identified a few problems that need to be addressed. One of them is a broken rear spring I am not back home until Monday so have told them not to tackle the job. I want to do it myself and I have read that you should replace both at the same time, which shouldnt be a problem, but I have read that you need to get it Realigned??? after you have replaced them, is this necessary???

You would be wise to replace in pairs but if you replace with OE springs guess what they will do again eventually! You should be able to get a set of 4 for cheaper than a BMW pair but I don't know of any that won't lower.
A full B12 kit is £600 on ebay, eibachs on their own can be had for around £150 (4). Depending on miles you might want to go all out.

Whenever you change suspension parts it's worth getting an alignment but let everything settle for a week or so before you do.
