Replacing front latch roof motor/drive cables

Ive replaced these on a roof before.. They can twist and chew the end sockets off.

The problem arises if the latching sensor is broken causing them to keep spinning even though the latch is fully engaged.. They are £70 each at BMW but I have a pair along with other most of the other front equipment on ebay.

Let me know if you struggle to source them and want mine or even want me to do it. You ideally have to peel the canvas back off the roof in order to access them from the top.

I've done a set before Alan, guy had gone mad manually opening the roof and chewed the ends, but I did it from inside the cabin.

If you do it from inside you can't open up the space between the motor and the latches easily so have to bend/flex them a lot to get them in.

If you peel the roof you can simply unbolt the latches insert the rods onto the central motor then add the latches onto 'the ends' without having to bend them.

I have got them out from the inside after peeling back headliner, where is the latching sensor?and do i need motor and latches in certain position to make sure they latches stay in sync with motor..the old cables were chewed up at the ends..
