Replacement Key fob battery?

Anyone know how?????? The spare key isn't working after the first time I used it, the main one isnt exactly strong either

Don't these charge through the ignition? So using the spare for your next drive may recharge the battery?

If you have an electric toothbrush, put the key on the stand. Apparently uses the same mechanism.

but IT'S NOT EASY with the instructions nomatter what they say...

Yep, they charge in the ignition.

They are slow to recharge so use the spare on a regular basis (once every few months) and on a good long run, not 5 mins to the shops.

My original 2003 batteries still work perfectly.

Just a quick question sort of related to this. When I bought my car only got one key? Stealers want a fortune for a key. Do you think I could get one cut and pair it myself from these instructions?

No - you can easily pair to the alarm system but a separate transponder in the key is matched to the ignition. Any spare key even if cut will therefore open the door, disarm, but not start the car.
I believe there are some specialists who claim to be able to sort the transponder, but not a home job.

I know it won't help you But my car only had one key and I politely insisted they get me a second before I'd purchase the car - they got one too. Shouldn't ever accept only one key

Interesting idea

I had a dead key when I got mine. It would start the car but no locking or alarm control. I tried several long drives and it slowly improved to where it would unlock but not lock the car. It wasn't until I did two four hour drives that it fully recovered. Now I swap keys and use them on alternate months

With regards to the charging with the toothbrush charger idea, is there any chance you could damage the keyfob? Thinking different currents? If not I'll stick it on tonight

I replaced the batteries in each of my keys and had them working as they should, a month or so before Christmas, then the key I normally use started playing up then a week later stope working the remote locks all together, so dough the other key out and that's stoped working too ???
So my question is if these keys recharge while in the ignition do the battery's fitted in them need to be rechargeable or can they just be normal straight forward key fob batteries ???
