I had thought about cutting them to be honest but glad i didnt buy them as i dont think you would be able to cut them then fit them properly.When i was looking at mine today they appear to be double walled and the only single piece of metal is where the holes are for fixing,so by cutting 20mm off would possibly be too close to the double walled part of the tip.
Does that make sense,kind of pricey to start loping bits off and knackering them
.So, like so many M's my exhaust tips look a bit ratty. I really like the look of those 'euro style' tips mentioned earlier in the thread and, not being adverse to a bit of modification, I thought I'd see how I could make them fit.
Having a good measure up with the Verniers it appears to me that the 61.5mm diameter is just about right for ease of fitting (I make the standard M 60mm) the next issue to overcome is the length. At 120mm long, the 'Euro style' are indeed 20mm longer than the standard M meaning that, if the existing rivet holes are used they would stick out beyond the bumper wayyy too far. But don't let that put you off.
Having a crawl around under the car, there is almost exactly 20mm behind the standard tip to play with (up to the front edge of the cut out in this photo - please excuse the filth) therefore, if the 'euro tips' were pushed back as far as they can go and new holes drilled, it seems to me that they would be bob on!
Does anyone have any conflicting views before I stump up a wedge of green?

Indeed I have, I really like the turning marks, although not a fan of the 'bolt on' but they can be left off in favour of a rivet set up I suppose.
