Replacement Diff (not the normal question)

Right, so during the cleaning out of Garage and shed, I discovered that I have a spare Z4 diff, from a 2.5.

My question is - can I use that to fit the MFactory LSD that I've ordered (and still waiting to turn up) for my 3.0?

Basically, if I can strip out the old 2.5 diff, stick the new LSD in and build it on my worktable, without having to take my car apart first, it would be a whole lot easier.
I could take my time, not worrying about not being able to drive the zed if needed etc etc.

Any input?

I think they are the same casing and design. Just check what the final drives are and yes you should be fine to do that.

Are you still waiting?? Did you order through Grinspeed or M factory direct? Either way i would be chasing them up buddy. Also you may well struggle getting the old bearings off one end is ok you can get pullers on. The other end there is no room to get the puller legs to grip on. I had to turn a section of the old diff casting away to get them off. Happy to do the same for you if needed  I struggled to get the bearings and the price i was quoted was silly. Especially as mine seem good.

yep - had to send one back as it was damaged in transit.
The replacement is currently awaiting customs clearance according to the delivery log.
Bought from M Factory direct.
