Oof, says a lot about the new car when 87% of votes on a Z4 forum are for a different car :?
Gota be the Jag... they sound biblical

I voted for the Z4. :D

The F-Type is on the heavy side for me and I'm not very fond of the 4 cylinder engine in the Cayman.

Like others, the 4 cylinder engine put me off the Porsche. So I chose the F-Type because the 3rd car on my list wouldn't be a Z4, it would be a Toyota Supra and I'd probably got for that.

After all there is plenty of BMW DNA in it!

Just to update this thread, thanks to all that voted, the Porsche looked liked it would be the outright winner but looks like the jag has caught up.
Anyway it looks like she’s sold on the Porsche and we’ve managed to locate one just need to get the travel restrictions lifted so we can view etc.
Thanks to all who voted and commented

This is a good point btw, the Supra is an excellent car definitely worth going and having a look and a try but I appreciate that the looks are a bit marmite!

So, finally got around to getting the wife her new toy, she’s over the moon with it and I gotta say it’s a lot of car for the money.
For all the purists our there who weren’t impressed with this engine noise I was quite surprised really, sounds ok. Not sure what the 2.0 was like never tried one but the 2.5 sounds well enough and with 350bhp goes ok too🤷‍♂️

Very nice indeed. Is it Graphite Blue? I see you have got the sports chrono package which mates really well with the PDK. I must say I didn't find the engine note an issue.

What a stunning car that is 8) my only gripe being the chrome window trim :( would look so much better black .

😂😂already on the list, will get these wrapped.
The previous owner specced this as he deemed it to be classy.
It’s not👎

Not at all John, I noticed quite a few reviews on YouTube commenting on the noise.
Not sure if it makes much difference but I believe he specced the sports exhaust?
In sport + it sounds really beefy

Graphite is a cracking colour and would have been a serious contender on my in bound Cayman if Porsche were still doing it. I am pretty sure you have a sports exhaust. Can't quite make out the buttons on the centre console from your pics, but the second one down on the drivers side should have a picture of an exhaust back box on it. Glad you are going to sort those window trim strips.

Yep you’ve definitely got the sports exhaust button. Doesn’t make as much a difference on the 718 as the old 981 as turbo’s have a muffling effect on any engine but it does make it sound a little beefier. It’s a very nice car you’ve got there, pin sharp and they pull like a train running away from something not very pleasant... The engine note on these cars is pure marmite, if you’re in the like camp then this car will not disappoint on any level I don’t think, just superb. :driving:

I just wish I could afford the new 718 4.0 GTS.....
