Replacement Car Battery

how do i check if mines original or been changed? (im assuming theres a stamp/markings, but can i just open boot and look or do i need to remove battery and look on the bottom or something silly?)

There will be a date stamped on top of the battery. The one I changed was a bmw one and the date it was made was definitely printed on it.

If they ship it out tomorrow via their ups delivery to a shop, it should arrive friday. I've ordered loads of stuff using that service and it's always come next day.

After not driving my car for 4 months due to injury (but had been starting regularly) the battery gave up the ghost.

Just had the AA (UK) out - started car but the original 2008 battery wouldn't hold charge after two attempts over about a 30 minute period. Not surprising really considering its age!

AA chap fitted new Varta (upgraded version apparently) for £108 - this included fitting it on my drive in the freezing cold. He used a memory retainer too, so all settings have been maintained. Took him about 20 minutes or so, what with checking everything worked.

Can't really complain about that. If you already have an AA membership or similar, well, makes sense. I am sure a garage (esp. BMW) would have charged a lot more.
:driving:

I got a battery from BMW just before Xmas.

Not sure if the M battery is the same or different, but paid £140 which I managed to haggle down from around £160 I think
