Repairing a dead roof motor

I have managed to take out the roof motor, I cleaned it with WD40 and left it in diesel all night but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work :(

I am not too sure if I should buy a new one or just try to fiddle with the one I already have " I know they can be brought back to life"

I am wondering if there are any professionals who can repair them ?
 
not heard of leaving it in deisel overnight... you're attempting to dry it out not drown it further no?

Others have managed to "repair" with some success, but you've done the hard bit taking the roof off. Get yourself a new motor IMO.
These things are delicate in their standard location, that's why some are relocating them to the boot.
My E85 had at least 4 roof motors before I sold it at 10 years old.
 
Unlucky Ben. I saw one on ebay yesterday for £179. Cheapest Ive seen so far.
 
I'm sure I read somewhere that soaking in diesel can un-seize a duff motor, not sure where though. No such worries now it's moved to the boot. Good luck

Let it dry right out, turn it over by hand and lightly tap with a rubber mallet as you do. Once you've done that and some odds and sods have fallen out, try using a couple of fly leads and plugging it straight onto the battery. If it turns over let it spin each way for a good few minutes.
