My car had a puncture on rear tyre (255/35 R18 90W) this morning after just 118 miles. I took the car to my local dealer this afternoon, and thought a new Bridgestone was needed (£307). But after the technician took the tyre off and checked the structure, and said it could be safely repaired (less than £30). They said only Bridgestone RF tyres can be repaired after a puncture (depend on the damage), all other RF tyres (e.g. Michelin, Continental) cannot be repaired and must be replaced. Is it correct?

That's real bad luck - sorry to hear this. Have you seen how much damage was caused? My understanding is that when you drive on a flat runflat you are gradually destroying the tyre, so as long as you have only travelled a short distance its probably ok. How much damaged was caused to the tyre to cause it to deflate in the first place?
I also think that £307 sounds a bit on the high side for an 18" rear tyre...?

This is what got into the tyre.
Even the chief technician checked and said the tyre was repairable, so they fixed it. The service advisor said you should never pull the anything out from tyre. If the tyre had no pressure at all, it would not be repairable. I rang 2 kwik-fit near my office this morning, but they did not have any tyre in stock. Otherwise, I could have already spent £250 and got it fixed at kwik-fit. BMW dealers will always charge a bit more.
