Moved out of the way of an ambulance this evening and lightly grazed about 1/4 of the rim of my 19" 326 wheel on a curb. I have a oil service due very soon, so does anyone know what bmw charge for a wheel repair please?

Cheers.

If it's a light graze just get it refurbed Zed Five, no need to get the robbing stealers involved surely..? :?

Don't sort with a dealer, they'll only get a wheel guy in anyway so you may as well cut out of the middleman!

True, but dealer will fix if paint peels again within 12 months (and car will be in for service anyway).

£80 I can live with. - cheers guys

Ive learned a new skill over the weekend. Alloy cosmetic repair. :D

I thought 'how difficult can it be?' Turns out, 'not very'.

Removed wheel
spray with soapy water
light wet sand damage
Dry
fill and let cure for a few hours
soapy water
wet sand until smooth
t-cut polish.
prime repair
matched paint
totally invisible repair :D :D :D

Nice  . I've always wanted to give this a go as it seems quite do-able as long as you take your time and take care. What did you use for filler?

Too busy working, but i can send you a picture of an alloy wheel without any marks if you like.

:P

didn't take any before pics, was focused on not screwing up a £500 alloy.

a body filler that cures to rock hard in a couple of hours. Nothing special. Worked brilliantly. Important to t cut out the sanding marks at the right stage, it gives you the confidence that it'll be ok :)
