removing steering column cowl

I need to remove the steering column cowl on my Z4. The ista instructions suggest that the steering wheel needs to be removed and the airbag needs to be removed to remove the steering wheel.

Has anyone done this?, is this the case?

No need to remove the steering wheel to remove the cowling. If you need to remove the airbag from the steering wheel, these are good instructions.

Removing it is pretty easy, getting it back on is the hard part!

Lower cowl I see one screw, if you want change the wheel the airbag has to come off but again is easy and there's a step by step guide on here.

I also need to remove the lower cowl of the steering column. I see only 1 screw, but the cowl still does not come off. How do I get it off?

Start at the back and work forward on the join line. Use something thin like a credit card in the gap.
