Looking at taking the struts out to change springs..

The Ohlins struts have a long section past the clamp point,,another 60-70mm ...

On full droop can the links, tie rod move far enough down to allow another 80mm ish of droop to allow the strut to be pulled out?

Comparing with the E85 I would say yes. But...................... if you have the self levelling sensor on one side, best to disconnect that first or you can break it (voice of experience!)

These from memory are the same as the e9x set up

I think I loosened the leading and trailing arm inner bolts so that the bush was free and it fell full travel to allow the strut to come out

It’s very tight Peter, it’s easier to unbolt the tie bar. Turn the steering wheel full left and right hand down for each side so that the tie bar bolt comes out past the steering rod boot. It’s all much easier than trying to wrestle the shock out with the bar attached and also risk damaging the paint on the wheel arch.
