Removing 3rd brake light (boot light)

I have a vinyl design that I want to put on the boot lid and the only way to do it properly is to remove the full brake light panel (the brake light panel itself will also be wrapped). Does anyone know how to do this? Do I just remove the boot lid lining underneath and get access or is there more to it?

Look under your bootlid and you'll see 3 circular holes,in each hole there is a nut,not sure of size.Undo these and pull out the brake light.

Just remove the lining under the boot lid, you can then access the fixings for the boot lamp. Be prepared for the amount of crap under there, the lamp cover is like an insert and there's no seal at the edges, crap magnet.

On the same e89 note. Has anyone seen an option to buy a clear centre brake light for an e89.

Quite a simple job, get yourself some good trim removal tools to remove the plastic retaining plugs for the lining and it's very straight forward. I did this a few years ago when I tinted the boot brake light.
