Does anybody know how you remove the back from the base of a heated sports seat? I've remove the two panels at the bottom sides of the back, which reveals the screw that you need to remove. I've done that and the side that doesn't have the wiring going up, comes free okay but the side with the wiring is stuck firm. Don't want to wrench it too much in case I damage something.

I haven't done it but thought that all you did was take off the covers, unscrew the torq bolts, undo the electrical connection and lift off. I might get more idea in the future as I have unheated facelift sports seats fitted instead of my heated pre-facelift ones, so might do a base swop if I can muster the enthusiasm!
The backs are just held on by 2 torx headed bolts on each side. You do however have to disconnect the heating loom too

No connector at all. The seat is never intended to be split. Pulling is just going to damage the loom
You have to work your way to one end or other of the loom and disconnect from the heating pad or split the main connector into components. Can't recall as it's 6yrs+ since I dismantled and rebuilt 2 sets of seats
Okay, just so everybody knows, you can remove the seat base from the seat back.
1. On the underside of the seat base, find the cable that leads up to the seat back. Mine had a blue connector. Unplug that connector.
2. Remove the two black panels at the bottom of either side of the seat back.
3. Remove the two torx screws.
4. Slide back upwards, away from the base, feeding the wire with connector as you do.

Presumably the connector is for the heater pad partially up the back of the seat.

Exactly that. Just got to be careful when you unclip the connector.
Now I've got to get down to restoring them. Started this morning with a heat gun to remove the dents in the leather and it's amazing what can be achieved with a little time and patience.
