passenger side is ok, thanks

I'm more than certain now, that there are no screws at position #2, driver side

I'll report back

the reason I have to remove the door trim is that the bottom door LED lamps' cable are so short, that I'm unable to unplug them for replacement 😀

On my car (E89 2012 MY) they used philips screws on one side and torx screws on the other..shining a torch down the screw holes will enlighten you..without those screws the door handle/door card would rapidlly pull apart..

I had the same problem, you need to arrange some sort of support structure for the door lining once it comes free so you can connect the LED's without disconnecting the whole door panel.
They are an incredibly tight fit, measure your door aperture, you will probably find it is about 2mm shorter lengthways than the new LED (if they are oem). You can easily trim it with a sharp new stanley knife blade.
Tricky but doable

You're welcome, I used two buckets with a brick in each one so they don't tip over as supports. Just about the right height for the bottom of the door trim.
Quite sure I don't need to tell you not to fill them with water for obvious reasons

Thought i was going to have to remove the door cardc also.
Before i did, got a pair of bent long nose pliers first and after a 20 minute battle got the puddle lights fitted :D

Are there no extended light connectors on the market for this sort of issue, he asks hopefully? I'm not looking forward to removing the door cards as the cables are so short on mine there's no way, long nosed bent pliers or not that I will be able to get these to couple....

there are, the new LEDs came with those

but the problem is that one can only remove the bulb and couldn't disconnect the socket itself (which hosts the bulb)

The original BMW LED Door Projector ones with replaceable lenses seem to have pretty much the same connector as the ones coming off....I keep looking in the box fruitlessly looking for extender cables but sadly not....maybe I buy a cheapy set that have the extender wires.... hmmmm?
