Remote Operation of Top?

Just checking to see if this is normal:

I can open the windows/top remotely by holding down the unlock button on my key but I can't close them. The only way I can do that outside the car is by putting the key in the door and turning it to the lock position and holding it there.

Yep, that's what I have... works really well.... I have pics from my how-to, but cant find the write up...
 
have you tried it with the one touch option? This was one of the features I was bummed about with my car. The newer ones automatically have this feature. But the dealership didn't know of this option. Thanks for the info!

This looks like the same unit, same company, but via eBay for about £95 inc. shipping Vs direct for Euro 250 (Approx £166) Plus shipping.

the one touch option controller allows you to close/open the top without having to hold the button for the duration of the cycle. Just push it once and it opens or closes...no holding! The site says it can be used in combination with the remote close too.
 
I could as easily order 2 in the UK and ship one to the US.

Only problem for you is the weak $ makes it expensive for items from this side of the pond
