Remote key intermittently working

As per title, works sometimes. Thought it was a low battery and that a few long runs would charge it up, but no good. Any solutions guys? Or links?

Sounds like the battery isn't holding much charge. New key? Think they are about £160!
Could try cutting it open, change the battery and put the internals into a modern BMW key fob. I think dlv used to offer this service but due to taking someone's money he is no longer a viable option.

Will have a look, got a electronic engineering degree shouldn’t be hard!
Just thought there maybe a BMW trick.

I've never needed to try it, but I've read of people having some success charging them by putting them next to an electric toothbrush charger!

Depending on where you are, there is a guy in E. London who does keys - search "bmkeys" for his contact details.
