Remote Engine Cut-Off

Hi

Has anyone installed a remote engine relay cut off

So how to operate, short range key fob. Cheap enough less than £10.
But if someone is driving off stealing your car, you need something with more range.
So app. based switch using some kind of mobile phone.
Or mobile rigged to operate relay (ask isis).
I think have a look in the motorhome world, some to disable or operate heater remote.
Using the vibrator output to operate relay, cheapest way.

you can buy remote disabling gadgets but you are probably better off with a tracker. Cutting a cars power when its driving will likely result in damage and if the thief is harmed you might find yourself in court...

Thanks for the feedback was looking at being able to smartly disable when parked, the tracker I have has a remote relay that can do this with a remote but the wiring diagram is not great

nope, that’s why I said ‘might’. But we all know what an ass the law is these days so I would certainly check first.

Easier just to fit a hidden switch.
The wiring diagram doesn't show fuse box but module.
Need to trace wire to pump, at a guess might be in boot somewhere.

True disabling vehicle in motion might cause all sorts of moral legal problems.

That's the easiest solution. I did that to one of my cars years ago, police woke me up at 5am as my car was at the bottom of the hill. Ignition was trashed but they couldn't start it so just dumped it. Door lock? '80s Ford, say no more :x
