Relocating roof motor to the boot

So there are times when you just need a cup of tea and a digestive. One such time was just now. Getting the price from BMW for a new roof motor. Just over £500. So although I like to do all my own maintenance this is not a cost effective diy proposition.
So I need to use the services of one of our roof experts. Distance is not important cost is obviously important but not a deciding factor.
With a motor relocation into the boot
It has or look neat and professional. Is the motor boxed in, do you see all the cables, is it carpeted?
How much boot space is taken up
I would like my motor repaired if possible. Does anyone have photos or recommendations? I am very proud of our Zed and don't want to spoil it.
 
I can highly recommend Number5 on here, he repaired and relocated my motor to the boot . Very very tidy job : :thumbsup:
 
Bowser134 did mine a few weeks ago; to answer your questions (for his services; can't comment on the others):

It has or look neat and professional. Is the motor boxed in, do you see all the cables, is it carpeted? Boxed in, don't see any cables, it is carpeted.

How much boot space is taken up? Ross put mine into a small recess at the left-hand side of the boot right at the back, then put a self-fabricated panel in to box it in. The motor is quite small; I had visions of losing half the boot space, like a LPG conversion or something; but in reality there is hardly any space lost.

Would recommend contacting one of the members on here who can advise you on refurb costs/best way forward. I had excellent service from Ross and would highly recommend him if you are in the M3/Sandhurst/Farnborough area; whole process took around 30 mins for him to do although my motor was in good nick.
