Here's something to make you throw up in your mouth a little. . . . .

I bought this after it had been completely rebuilt by a Doctor. It was immaculate and I was attracted to it's idiosyncrasies and the horrible looks!
But study the photo carefully - it has:

A monocoque frame
Horizontally opposed cylinders
Water Cooling (Very quiet running)
Drive shaft (no chain)
Running boards
Knee protectors

It's an old Noddy bike (used by the police in the 50's and 60's) and is a Velocette LE Mk 2
It was such an interesting design and had so much innovative engineering on it I just had to buy it.
It was such an odd looking motorbike it drew crowds who wanted to know more about it too. . . .killed off the Velocette company however!
Stupidly exchanged it for a Triumph 650 twin café racer which I've since sold.

completely OTT for a weekender for 1500 miles a year but V8

You know Andy,so did i.......... Until i drove one.

I went to buy a 57 plate one from Wigan and although it was a nice place to be it was pretty boring for the money...

Lee will be off shortly
Paul...you can read me like a book  I am currently trying to be kind to the V8 M3 as I have been slated so many times on pistonheads that people get very angry with me on there!

I will just say that its the best car in the world then everyone will be happy!! :D

In all fairness most people I would imagine would love it to bits but it just wasn't for me. :)

I will always appreciate how lovely your comments were when I got mine  :D but its a difficult car in that its not that great as a daily driver and not really special enough as a weekend motor either...so you are miles better off in a 911, I think :driving:

It was the fact it was a V8 that did attract me to it in the first place but for me the fantasy didn't match the reality sadly. :(
