Hi

I'll be changing my plates for personal ones soon. The rear is stuck on using double sided tape and I intend to use the same on the new rear plate.

My question is, what do you think is the best method of removing the residue tape stuff from the car once I've removed the old plate?

Thanks!

Just fetched mine off the Jag yesterday and once I pulled the plate off the remainder of the pads just peeled off leaving no residue. If you do it gently it might be that simple...

Wd 40 removes the glue !

WD40 - excellent advice, based on fish oil so know the story???

Has a million & 1 uses but for those who haven't heard the story before, the name WD40 came from some scientist. Apparently they were looking for a compound to disperse water... Water Dispersal test number 40 worked... so they called it WD40.

One of the safest & universal compounds to use http://www.wd40.com/uses-tips/ Had an email years ago on all the different uses, including safely removing tar from your paintwork.

Happy dayz

WD40 is awesome stuff - haven't found an application where I thought it might work and hasn't.

Test it on a small areas first though!
