Refurbished vanos

Just trying to gauge interest here.
I have the old vanos unit from my Z4 2.5 which I have stripped and ultrasonically cleaned here at my work. Was planning to refurbish it with new seals and bearings and then sell it on. The kit costs £70 and I'd be happy to sell on to forum members for £100.
My refurbished unit cost me £234 inc duty and freight from USA. It wasn't worth returning my old one for a credit.
It's straight forward refurbishing it. I have all the tools and am good with the spanners (have previously replaced timing belts on my 3 Impreza Turbo's) so it would be a "proper" job. I am thinking the shell could remain within the forum members so if someone bought refurbished unit they would then overhaul their old one and then sell it on at just about cost as I planned to do.
Let me know. I have seen a marked difference to my cars performance since fitting replacement.
Thanks for reading.

Hi McTyke, This is a great idea. I would definitely be interested in buying this if you refurb it. I have been thinking about doing the vanos and disa on my Z so this would be perfect.
My only question is whether your 2.5 vanos would fit on a 2.2 engine. Do you have a part number I could check on realoem? If it's the same then I'd take it!

Pretty certain they are the same. The same unit fits loads of different BMW's with the twin cam set up. Below are some numbers from a e-bay listing.
M54 Engine : 2.2 2.5 3.0
Original Part Numbers:1440142/1440134/1438448/1707305/1744847/1744848/11361440142/11361440134/11361438448

It does look like one size fits all. Although having looked a little closer at what’s involved, it might be a little out of my comfort zone.
Still think this is a great idea, but I’ll pass this one up for someone else to have a go with.
