Refurb 108's - Anyone Used Wheel Genie in Huntingdon?

Hi,

Getting my 108's refurbished with some new non rft's Falkens or F1's which will be delivered to the company doing the wheels and replaced at the premises.

Looking at Wheel Genie in Huntingdon as relatively close. I have a grey Z4 3.0, and am looking at going with the following look to the wheels:

Basically, a chrome shadow effect. I know these aren't 108's, but bascially chrome outside, moving to a darker chrome on the inside.

I've been quoted £100 per wheel and £50 for all the brakes painted black (thought red a bit common) + VAT

This includes fitting new tyres etc. Car will be there for 2 days.

Anyone any views?

Have used them for a set of 19" TSW Vortexs from my 300zx after ShitFit ripped up the edges fitting some new rubber... and they did a brilliant job.
two thumbs up for them from me :)

disclaimer: that was before they moved premesis, but I think it's still the same guys... Keith Dickens was the owner when I went, and after talking with him for a bit, he did be a cracking deal and is a top fella!

Yeah he is still there, thanks for that. Wondering when to do it. My car is garaged and I use it on good days, so was thinking April time when the weather gets better, plus i wear my rft's a little bit more.

I recently used the services of Wheel Genie on the 27th May 2011. I had the choice of using Lepsons (based in Gillingham) or Wheel Genie (Huntingdon).

I was in two minds whether to use them or go for Lepsons who have a known reputation, I decided to give Wheel Genie a try as it was only 20 miles from home - Unfortunately I had a bad experience with the finised product and found the owner, Keith extremely rude and agressive.

Service:
1 x wheel completely stripped, straightened (very light kerb damage) and repainted for £120 including centre cap. (Nearly double the price quoted of Lepsons)

Problems:
1. When I collected the wheel they only painted the outside of the rim and left the inside primed only. Depsite me asking them to spray the whole wheel. Keith the owner claimed they dont spray the inside and this is industry practice. I had to prove the wheel came originally painted both inside and out in order for him to take the wheel back and complete the re-spray.

2. Keith did not re-spray the centre cap (although he charged me for this servce), and when questioned why not he said he thought the colour was close enough that it didnt need doing. The colour was actually different, he just tried to get away with not doing it because its an awkward job.

3. Since the refurbishment my rim leaks air along the bead exactly where Wheel Genie repaired the light kerb damage. Its a very small leak but over 3 weeks it deflates the tyre. I have had the tyre changed and looked at 3 times since the refurb and all the tyre companies suggested the minor leak could be down poor workmanship where the wheel was refurbished.

Customer Service
I took it back to Wheel Genie this week, the owner (Keith) was extremely rude and dismissive that the cause of the leak could be anything to do with them and refused to look at the wheel.

I would not recommend their service to anyone, they dont value custom, are overpriced and cannot be trusted.

I have used The Wheel Genie a few times and never had a problem, the guy there is very helpfull and will spend time going over what you want. I highly recomend him and they do a fantastic job! just my oppinion of course but i think the last post is a bit harsh :?
 
I had some 108's done by the Wheel Genie and they are fantastic! chrome black rim with an anthracite centre and new carbon effect centre caps,its totaly transformed the car looks amazing.Was gonna go to Pristine but Wheel genie were a lot cheaper! Left the car for 2 days i supplied new tyres and they fitted them and balanced them up for me for no extra,im well pleased. If you are thinking of getting your wheels refurbed go see these guys i reccomend them 100% :D :D :D
