Refurb 108s after winter or..... MV2s

Ok, so my 108s are looking rather tired. I have one new wheel which was replaced prior to me buying the car, and the other wheels look ok, but as the saying goes..... pretty from afar, but far from pretty.

I have always loved MV2s on a Z4. Really like the look, and despite the extra cleaning requirements, I would love a set on my zed.

I'm going to keep the 108s on the car over winter. But after that I have four options:

1. Refurb the 108s back to "new" condition :)
2. Custom refurb of the 108s :D
3. Buy a set of MV2s (I like this option most!) :yeah:
4. Get a set of non OEM rims :|

I would prefer OEM rims. What do you think guys and gals?

If I get new rims, can always keep the spare 108s as winter wheels......

Ignore Taz, his pet hate is cleaning his MV2's!! I find MV2's ok, BUT I'm not obsessive, and as long as they're clean, that's fine with me, I don't worry about perfection. Why not fit a set of MV2's then do a custom referb on your 108's.You'll have time to research referb companies and choose your colour scheme. Then, if you don't like what you've done, you'll find a ready market for them. I fitted MV2's after flogging my 108's on this forum and haven't looked back. I got fed up of trying to keep my 108's looking nice.

Personal opinion - I really dislike the look of the MV2's close up. Far far away they look alright but as soon as I can actually see the spokes.. sorry not for me.

108's all the way in my opinion or something completely different!

I like the MV3 better, bit more modern and if you can find a pair in graphite they are so lush

MV2's or 3's do look nice. so does 107's

get rid of the 108's there the ugliest z4 wheels by far... and seem to need refurbing way too much

sars, Bing - good call - but prefer MV2s. Think MV3s are too modern looking for the zed... if that makes sense!

Hotride - yep, I'm leaning towards MV2s....

Good idea on refurbing the 108s after getting MV2s....

Glad they're not too hard to clean :D

Hmmm,, I personally think MV2's belong on an E46. I've never really like them on a Zed for some reason. On an E46 they look great. Just my personal opinon.

Do whatever makes you happy and what you personally like the look of

Craig3.0's refurbed 108's look really good if your after some inspiration :)

Agreed, MV2s were for facelifted E46s, neither E60s nor E85/86s should have them. Cras should have wheels that were originally bespoke for their design. Hence Z4s should have either Style 107, 108 or at a push 202....Maybe 224s. E60 M-sports should have 172s or nothing.

EDIT: though Willow's coupe looked good with MV2.

MV2 were standard fit on the Msport version at the 2006 face lift, so yes they should :)

Couldn't find graphite ones anywhere though.

Adamski, these are the nuts  But they're not cheap, ESP if you need them refurbed...

First hands off, currently looking for a set for summer tyres

Agree Mv2 are for E46's . I removed mine for CSL 's. As for the Mv's i think they are easy to clean compared to my Csl 's !

I'll go against the grain as I bought my roadster with the MV2s and think they look great! They do take a bit longer to clean but if you keep on top of it, it's not too much work each time. Although I'm yet to take them off to get right into the nooks!

I'm in the market for a refurb for them as well as they're a bit knocked about from previous owner.
