Johnalexander if you've got the 2.0 litre then using the full rev range of the engine is part of the character of your Zed. With 150 bhp you will get the best of the Zed by using the full rev range of the engine. I had a two litre as my first Zed and loved it - on the road it was great for back road runs and a lot of the fun was in keeping the engine 'on the boil'. So lots of third gear work and down into second for tight bends (there is annoying fall in revs from second when changing up into 3rd) On forum runs I had to work the engine hard but it was all part of the enjoyment. The whole point is that you will enjoy your Zed more when you start to use it's full performance so do keep building your skills and experience (safely) and get used to using that full rev range!

Once the engine is properly warmed through, there's little harm done by the odd trip up to the red line. :thumbsup:

Only time I have ever realy worried about it, was on the main staight at Spa. The Engine was above 7k rpm, for what seemed like forever, in 4th, pulling up hill into Les Combes. After a few laps I started changing up to 5th, to give the engine an easier time. :driving:
 
This thread got me interested and had a little play today. The very first time I got over run popping on this car, or any car in fact. It could prove to be very addictive...
