Red Light Flashing

Whist adjusting the steering wheel I happened to be looking down the left side of the binnacle (where the adjusting lever is) and noticed a small red light/LED flashing continually under and behind the dash panel.

It caught my eye as it was reflected off of the casing and when I stopped and turned everything off it still flashed, anyone any ideas and has anyone else noticed this red light ??

I did not notice there is a LED light there (not even mentioned in the owner's manual).

It's not a dedicated light for a function or warning I feel as it is right back and semi hidden but it caught my eye and the reflection on the steering casing is noticeable. Perhaps it has dropped down from somewhere or part of the alarm maybe ??

Yep, under the r-v mirror.

Dunno what it is but happily flashing away when the ignition is on so going to pop into the 'stealers' if I get a chance tomorrow as very distracting.

Tried to get my hand twixt dash and steering wheel cowling/binacle to see if it was hanging but no go joe as no room to get in; a bit like a gynacologist trying to wall paper his hall through the letterbox !!

Yep, turns out it's a tracking unit I had no idea was fitted. That should help bring the insurance down a tad

Is there not some ongoing annual cost to this?

Also thought tracker type units were meant to be as invisible as possible?
