2011 BMW Z4 35i
Took ED on 08/02/2011. Took PCD on 10/04/2011.
Local dealer/service center replaced iDrive saying design fault and reprogrammed the car. Recurring problems started at that time. When I went to pick up, AC wouldn't turn on. They did a master reset and released the car. After that these are the recurring problems with my Z4:
1. AC Shutdown
2. Engine Malfunction (7 times so far, latest on 01/20/2014)
3. Chassis Stabilization failure
Every time, dealership replaces some parts or none, clear all the faults and release the car. After the car goes thru the required number of cycles, the issues start again. They replace the same parts under warranty, clear the fault codes and release the car. I requested BMW NA to buy back or swap the car. They said no and offered me discount of around $2000 if I purchase another BMW within one month ! As is anybody's guess, I didn't take their offer. After 7 times of 'Engine Malfuction' and dealer replacing the same parts again and again, I contacted a lemon law attorney.
This is my 4th BMW, 2nd Z4. Never had these kind of reccuring problems. Very frustrating :headbang:
