Recommended car wash Hillingdon/Uxbridge area?

Need to get my car washed this weekend. Since its new and I'm overly protective of it don't want to just take it anywhere. Would be good to have some suggestions if anyone has any. Thanks

Mate, come down to Ealing, and I'll take you to a place I use...they are really good. They use my products when I ask them, and will even use my drying cloth and keep my stuff there....depends whether you can come down a few miles on the A40.....

Now I have been there, and they tried to dry it with a rubber blade which freaked me out a little...so I drive it off wet....two bucket method is good, but if you're using leathers etc, you may as well leave it.

I went to one in Wales, and they guarantee a new clean lambswool cleaning mit to be used each time, and snow foam....

Hi Nick, I finally made it down to the car wash place that you recommended (washed it myself the time before but since the weather is not ideal thought I'd give it a miss this time). Anyway just to say that it was really good and I'll be going back again, thanks for the tip!

Pros and cons of a rubber blade thingy?

Car wash place used one on my car today. Not a good idea? If so, I'll find somewhere else.
Cheers.

If its new and you're particular then why not wash it yourself?

Hi Maniac, I did the first time when the weather was reasonable, on this occasion due to working long hours, forthcoming roadtrip and not wanting to be out in the cold I wanted a quicker solution. Time/weather permitting I'll do it myself again - was quite a decent workout actually.

Decent workout lol, it takes 30 minutes to do a quick wash, 60 if you're being super picky on a snow foam etc approach. Workout indeed... if these cars were any smaller they'd be fiat 500's.

Took my car to a hand car wash today.

NEVER NEVER AGAIN.

Not happy right now. :-(

Couldn't agree more. I've never used them. a) on cheap cars, because I couldn't be bothered what they look like or b) on expensive cars like I have now because they'd ruin the paint!

Popped down to my mates body shop.
He managed to remove the scratches (o/s rear wing) by using 3000 grade paper and polishing compound. Still slightly visible but risky to loose any more lacquer.
Although there are a few stone chips and fine marks, those marks were definitely not there and were probably caused by grit on their sponge.

Valuable lesson learnt though.
Would rather drive around with the car filthy than let anyone else wash it for me.

Not trying to have a go at the better car wash places, but if I wash it myself then I can only blame myself if I mark it. Although I'm always careful.

Cheers.
