Recommendations for a weekend in Bristol

Looking for recommendations of things to do for a weekend in Bristol, mainly where to eat and drink in the evening.

Am planning on eating at Cau on the Saturday night but need somewhere to go on Friday night, nothing too heavy as fancy a few beers / cocktails after so any recommendations of decent bars also welcome.

Any must do things in the daytime?

Will be staying at The Bristol Hotel.

Friday night The Kensington Arms in Redland, or the Pump House on the dock, book for both, Bristol is a great place for food, so much to choose from.

As for things to do, SS Great Britain, very good and M Shed museum, shopping Cabot Circus or perhaps a boat trip around the dock or the Avon

Have fun though

Definitely wait for a sunny weekend.
Try and coincide with the Harbour Festival, or Balloon Festival.

Whenever I go to Bristol it rains :(
In the nicest possible for way, could you not go this weekend then! :D

I hope you're not expecting to exceed 6mph or find anywhere to park within 3 miles of the City Centre?

Only Bristol could have a Mayor who campaigns for a 20mph inner city speed limit to be applied everywhere and then get caught speeding in it himself !

Having been there with //Mikerw, I dont think it was necessarily the food that impressed him. :heat:
He seemed particularly taken with the Cuban Dancing...

 I actually just looked it up on tripadvisor and food / service reviews seemed to be pretty poor.
