looking for a 3 night weekend cottage/hotel within 2 hours of manchester . oct/nov ?
so lakes/scottish borders/wales/northumberland/dales etc
getting some crazy quotes for 3 nights in what i would describe as average or basic accomodation :?
don,t mind rural , town or coast , just a few nights away from the teens :) prefer to take our border terrier but that's not a must .

sure you well rounded individuals have some suggestions to put forward

oh , 1 strict criteria ! decent parking for the zed a must :D

My missus always fancied a stay at Peckforton castle near Chester. Driven up to it but never stayed. Looks nice! You could always come down our way...Ironbridge/Shrewsbury area

Really nice hotel for a getaway - Coombe Abbey in Warwickshire. Really nice surroundings, great food. And only a few miles from Gaydon if you fancy a visit there...

Check out https://www.ruralretreats.co.uk/

A fantastic selection of cottages and places to stay all over the country. Some of them allow dogs too.

Peckforton is lovely

Also there's a Groupon at the moment for £99 hay-on-wye for b and b two nights with dinner on one night.

acornerofeden.co.uk - I know they have terriers. I imagine they will be helpful. I have never stayed with them, they are my bil's wife's bro. On a personal level I have found them easy, kind, and cheerful. I expect they run a decent b&b. good luck.

We used to holiday a lot in Anglesey when I was a kid, still go quite a bit now. Beaumaris is particularly nice.

We always nip to Gibbon bridge when we need to put our feet up for a few nights.. Beautiful and close enough for travelling not to be a drag..

Or if you want to head over my way....Have stopped here on a couple of occasions..Always superb..
