At that price I would try n grab a Seiko auto (mechanical obv. not quartz) on a bracelet, not strap (more versatile & harder wearing). Try the Seiko Sea Urchin

Good shout I've had a Seiko 5 auto (the basis of the Sea Urchin) for nearly 30 years and has only needed one overhaul, it's still a regular daily watch

Correct choices. As I mentioned earlier I am a big seiko fan. I have got a seiko black monster as a beater.

Another Seiko fan here, got 3 of my own, and another that was bought in Singapore in '67 - Seiko automatic, still works fine, keeps accurate time, and classic looks

Real pity as you just missed the Christopher Ward sale. I got a C7 Rapide for a little over £100. It looks every part a much more expensive watch.

Seiko is probably the best option. You can get a good quality automatic for a smidge over your budget and it will last forever. I have my grandfathers Seiko 5 automatic. It has to be at least 30 years old, never been serviced and still going.

Something of a parody of many of the classic (and somewhat more expensive) watch styles and well put together I believe.

First caught my eye when I saw one being worn by someone who could well afford any watch he fancied but instead chose to run with one of these in bright red instead!

My everyday watch is a gshock... Originally bought it as a needed an alarm for the inca trail! From surfing to skiing to just sitting in the office... Its taken a beating but still works fine!

Casios Ediface range is worth a look.

Amazing build quality, very accurate timekeeping and good looking to boot.

I have a couple of watch snob friends and even they were impressed (one has actually gone on to buy one for everyday wear lol)

As above, the Ediface range isnt bad, little busy/ sporty but well built & at that price, you cant moan!

Would love an Audemars Piguet Diver or Panerai 253- silly money tho & cant justify! Did consider the Omega Speedmaster (moonie) but think im going to grab either a Tudor Pelagos or Heritage Chrono for my 30th < a way of justifying it to the mrs, 'its a milestone' blah blah!!
